A new Commissioner of Police, Nemi Edwin-Iwo, has assumed duty in Edo State, the News Agency of Nigeria is reporting.
This was contained in a statement issued in Benin on Tuesday by the spokesperson of the Command, Moses Yamu.
The statement said the new CP replaced Funsho Adegboye.
The statement described Edwin-Iwo, the 47th CP in the state, as a hardworking, versatile and dedicated law enforcement officer.

Until his deployment to Edo State, he was the CP in charge of the Force Intelligence Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the statement, the police chief hails from Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Port-Harcourt, and a Master’s degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Ibadan.
Edwin-Iwo was enlisted into the Nigeria Police in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police.
