The Christian Association of Nigeria will organise a three-day prayer rally in the North East during the Easter period.
The CAN Chairman in Gombe State, Rev. Abare Kalla, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Gombe on Thursday that all the states in the North East would converge on Gombe to pray for peace.
Kalla said fasting would also be done beside the normal lent observed during the period.
He added: “We want the problem of the region to be over and we are sure that God is in control.
“We want to enjoy a positive peace not a negative one.”
The chairman said that the zone used to be peaceful and highly cosmopolitan in the past and stressed the need for restoration of the old peaceful coexistence in the area.
Kalla also urged Christians in the country to pray for the success of the programme.
