Eaglets Chief Coach eyes top finish against Iraq

Golden Eaglets team handler, Manu Garba, has boasted that his team would eventually top their group after it would have comprehensively beaten Iraq’s U- 17 national team in Dubai on Friday.
Garba, who once assisted late Golden Eaglets handler of the 2007 class, Yemi Tella, told The Eagle Online in Dubai on Wednesday afternoon that the team has left the disappointment of not beating Sweden in Tuesday’s second group match, which ended in a 3-3 score draw, but are now prepared to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians by playing and winning well in the match against Iraq.
Garba led his team to the Inter Continental Hotel, Dubai on Wednesday and declared that he cherished a return to Al Ain where he disclosed the Golden Eaglets enjoyed a lot of support in the first two games the team played in the group stage before moving to Dubai for the last group match against Iraq.
He told The Eagle Online: “Our ambition is to eventually top our group as leaders and move back to Al Ain where we were toast of the fans.
“We enjoyed a lot of support from both Nigerian fans and the indigenes.
“Nigerians should pray for us and continue to support this team.
“They should believe in this team.
“The 3-3 draw we played against Sweden will further strengthen the team and make us work harder.
“Our ultimate ambition is to emerge winners of this competition and we are confident we will fulfil our promise.”
