Super Eagles’ defence stalwart, Geofrey Oboabona, has assured Nigerians that the team will stop Manchester United forward, Javier Hernandez, popularly known as Chicharito, when Nigeria squares up with their Mexican counterparts in an international friendly billed for the United States of America on May 31.
Speaking from the Super Eagles’ camp in Nuremburg, Germany on Tuesday, the Sunshine Stars of Akure skppier believes the Super Eagles back line is capable of stopping Chicharito from wrecking havoc on the African Champions.
Oboabona said: “We have just concluded the first training of the day and everyone is looking ready for the game.
“Chicharito is a great player whom we all have great respect and love for.
“He is very quick on the ball and great precision on goal.
“It will be massive to play against him but I can assure you that we are going maintain a close watch on him and also ensure that he has little or no breathing space in the game.”
It was Oboabona who took out African Footballer of the Year, Yaya Toure, and Didier Drogba at the AFCON 2013.
