Each player of the senior national team, the Super Eagles, is to earn $10,000 for a win over Rwanda in today’s 2013 African Nations Cup qualifier.
The President of Nigeria Football Federation, Aminu Maigari, said in Kigali that the proposed cut in Eagles allowance has been suspended for the match against the Wasp of Rwanda.
“There is no plan to cut your wining bonus, Rather, we are thinking of fresh areas of motivating you, so that you can always bring victories to Nigerians,” Maigari told the players.
The encounter between Nigeria and Rwanda is billed to kick off 1.30pm Nigerian time.

There were initial fears that there might be an altitude issue during the match and that temperatures might soar, but that is not the case on ground and most Euro-based players were excited at the weather condition in the city.
