The Department of State Services has freed a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, after over four months in detention.
The Eagle Online recalls that Bawa was arrested on June 14, 2023 by the DSS following an invitation to him.
The arrest came shortly after President Bola Tinubu suspended him from office.
He was eventually released on Wednesday night after 134 days in the custody of the secret police.
It also came days after his successor, Ola Olukoyede, who was appointed by President Tinubu, assumed office.
In several video clips seen by The Eagle Online on Wednesday, Bawa was received warmly by his family and friends.

He was seen in his living room with his children and other relatives, who were rejoicing with him.
So also was he seen with friends in some of the video clips.
