It has been reported that a drone-like object almost killed a son and his mother in their house at Awotan, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The incident occurred around 5pm on Sunday.
The object was said to have landed with force on the roof of the toilet of the house, shattering the asbestos ceiling to gain entry.
This was barely few minutes the son and the mother left the toilet.
The owner of the house, Oloye Taju Adetoro Asipa, said: “The object almost killed my daughter-in-law and her son who only escaped by the whiskers.”
Asipa added that he rushed to the scene when he heard the frightening sound of the object only to discover that it had found its way outside through the same point of entry.
He explained that he later found the object hanging near the external antenna of their neighbour, emitting heavy smoke with a terrible noise.
He said he asked his son to render the object inactive because after removing it from their neighbour’s roof, the object repeatedly attempted to take off again.
Asipa added: “We initially thought it was a toy, expecting the owner to come and claim it.
“Since the incident happened, nobody within our community has come to claim it.
“When we considered the manner it got in and how it escaped, we felt that the object was being monitored and controlled from somewhere.
“After careful consideration and examination of the compartments of the object, we thought it could be an explosive.”
Asipa said they had informed the nearest security agent about the incident.
