Dolphins Football Club of Port Harcourt’s’ next home game in the Nigeria Professional Football League against Nembe City will be played on Wednesday and not Thursday Eagle Online Sports has gathered.
Since the 2012/13 football season kicked off in March, Dolphins have played midweek games on Thursdays and not Wednesdays that used to be the norm.
Home games against Shooting Stars, Sunshine Stars, Heartland and Nasarawa United were all played on Thursday.
However, a text message from a secretariat staff of the NPFL to the Secretary of Dolphins on Friday, read thus: “I have been directed to inform you that henceforth all NPL mid-week matches are scheduled to be played on Wednesdays. Thank you.”
“As a result, our next home game against Nembe City and subsequent ones will be played on Wednesday if they come in midweek,” Dolphin’s spokesman, China Acheru, disclosed.
