The leadership of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress said it received with rude shock the demise of the amiable and loving mother of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Alice Emefiele.
The Delta State leader of the party, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, in a condolence message signed by the Director of Media, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said it is always painful to lose one’s mother no matter the age because of the strong bond of love between a good mother and her loved children.
Emerhor urged the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, to take the departure of his mother with a pitch of the salt, knowing fully well that death is an inevitable end for all mortals no matter the societal, professional or spiritual status.
Emerhor prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest, while commending the enviable and successful life of the Emefiele matriarch, being a proud mother of a highly successful banker, world class technocrat and helmsman of the nation’s apex bank.
The party chieftain and 2015 governorship candidate, said Delta State APC mourns late Emefiele, who, by all standard, was an Amazon of uncommon virtues, community woman leader and a role model for young female folks aspiring to greater heights in life.
Madam Emefiele died on December 25 at 94 years.
