Delta 2015: APC accuses PDP of sponsoring splinter faction

Not wanting to be consumed by the surprises that are associated with partisan politics in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress in the state has accused the ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, of sponsoring disunity among its members.
The party accused the ruling party of wanting to polarize its members ahead of the October 25 council polls and the 2015 general elections.
The party has since the merger was consummated been entangled in factional crisis, resulting in the setting up of two party secretariats in Asaba, the state capital.
The crisis assumed a dangerous dimension shortly after the state congress of the party two months ago when Prophet Jones Ode-erue emerged as the arch-rival party’s state chairman.
Although, the national body of the party has since confirmed Prophet Jones Ode-erue’s led executive, the faction of Chief Isaac Tobore Ajueshi and Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh have continued to constitute a clog in the party’s wheel of progress.
Okotie-Eboh group, The Eagle Online authoritatively confirmed, masterminded the suspension slammed on Prophet Ode-erue two weeks ago, having allegedly lured a member of the State Working Committee of the party into the conspiracy game.
Reacting to the development at the party’s Secretariat in Asaba at the weekend, Isaac Adaka Adakpo, the Publicity Secretary to Prophet Odo-erue, described the splinter secretariat within the state capital as “Baraje’s group.”
Alhaji Kawu Baraje was the chairman of one of the groups that came together to form the APC.
According to Adakpo, the group is being sponsored by the money-bags of the ruling PDP in the state, not only to truncate APC’s fortune ahead of 2015 and in the forthcoming council polls, but to continue to hold the state in control.
He said: “The Baraje group has a secretariat.
“It is a contracting firm.
“That secretariat you see there has a phone number that depicts that of a contractor.
“You think they are operating to win the state’s Government House?
“Their trade is not to be in politics.
“They are there to cover up for the 15 years of PDP barrenness and sinister umbrella politics in Delta State.”
Shedding light on Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh faction, Adakpo said: “Adolo Okotie-Eboh does not exist as a faction.
“His legacies in ACN (Action Congress of Nigeria) disappeared after the congress.
“He should accept defeat.
“He is bad loser.
“Nobody says he should not keep his ACN structure but he should accept defeat.
“I don’t really know what he stands for.
“As it now, he is a mole.”
