Dankwambo sets up eight-man committee to select new Gombe emir

Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State has approved an eight-man committee to select a new emir of Gombe following the death of the former Emir, Alhaji Shehu Abubakar, on May 27 at the age of 76.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Bage, in Gombe on Monday.
The statement said that the composition of the committee was in exercise of the constitutional powers vested on the governor.
It said that the committee would be chaired by the Waziri of Gombe while the Ubandoma of Gombe would serve as Deputy Chairman.
Other members are the Dan Lawal of Gombe, Sarkin Malaman Gombe, Sarkin Ban Gombe, the Chief Imam of Gombe, Ajiyan Gombe and Durbin Gombe.
