Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested two suspected cultists, Hammed Olawale, 20, and Japhet Oderinde, 23, in the Igando area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest in a statement on his verified X handle.
Hundeyin, a Superintendent of Police, who confirmed the development on Sunday, said that the suspects were arrested following a distress call.
He said: “The suspects were arrested by officers from Igando after responding to a distress call that two rival cult groups had gone on rampage.

“The two suspects were found in possession of a locally-fabricated semi-automatic pistol with four live rounds of 9mm ammunition.”
Hundeyin said that a 26-year-old, Abeeb Fagbohun, was found shot and promptly taken to hospital.
According to the police image maker, efforts are in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspects.
