Court orders Saminu Turaki’s arrest

A former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Saminu Turaki, has incurred the wrath of a Federal High Court sitting in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, for not being in court to stand trial over an alleged N36 billion theft.
The court has therefore directed the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Sbubakar, his officers and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to arrest Turaki whenever he is sighted and bring him before the court.
Justice S. Yahuza gave the order on Friday.
This was after the EFCC had declared Turaki wanted for failing to attend the trial.
Yahuza ordered: “You are hereby commanded to arrest the said Ibrahim Saminu Turaki and bring him before me at Federal High Court, Dutse, Jigawa State without delay.”
