Nigeria has claimed another gold and silver medals in Para-Powerlifting Women’s Heavyweight category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
37-year old Alice Folashade Oluwafeniaye broke the World and the Commonwealth Games records to strike gold. She lifted a total of 123.4kg to set the new record.
Oluwafeniaye’s compatriot, Bose Omotayo claimed the silver medal with a total of 115.2kg ahead of Australia’s Hani Watson who came third with 98.5kg.
Nigeria has so far taken her total medal haul to 10 since the Games started last week Wednesday.
