Club owners reinstate acting secretary

In a swift reaction to the resignation of the Ag. Secretary of the Globacom Premier League Club Owners Association, Alloy Chukwuemeka, the executive of the body has given extension of service to the General Manager of ABS FC to continue in office.
In a statement by the Ag. Chairman of the Club Owners, Barrister Isaac Danladi, Chukwuemeka has been given the nod to continue in office pending the election of a substantive executive.
The statement reads in part: “The Exco of the Nigeria Premier League Club Owners Association acknowledge receipt of your letter of resignation. However upon due consideration of the said letter of resignation vis-a-vis the need to avoid a vacuum in the Executive, the Exco has provisionally approved that you continue in office as Acting Secretary of the Club Owners Association pending the election of a substantive Executive.
“This action has become necessary in view of your selfless and meritorious service as well as invaluable contributions to the Association as Acting Secretary.
“We hope that this gesture will spur you to put in more in the interest of the association.
“Accept the assurances of the Club Owners Association with highest esteem.”
Meanwhile, the club owners boss, who doubles as the chairman of Nasarawa United FC, said the Association would soon meet in Abuja to deliberate on the one season extension granted to the League Management Committee by the Nigeria Football Federation Annual General Assembly at its last meeting in Warri, Delta state.
The association however cautioned the Nduka Irabor-led LMC to guard against insensitive utterances in the media capable of causing further disaffection between the clubs and the LMC as noticed in LMC’s recent Twitter handle.
