CAN, PFN, gospel artistes, others sing, pray for Nigeria

The Christian Association of Nigeria, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Gospel artistes and others gathered to pray to God for intervene in Nigeria’s numerous challenges.
The event, which was organised by House on the Rock, Church, Minna, Niger State, in collaborating with gospel artists over the weekend, had over 7,000 persons including politicians, in attendance.
In his remarks, state Chairman of CAN, Rev. Mathias Echioda, called on Christians and indeed Nigerians to be steadfast and trust God for healings in the land.
According to Echioda: “We are going to break the evil yoke holding Nigeria at ransom through intercessory prayers, praise and worshiping God in his fullness.”
Speaking to newsmen shortly before the praise event, tagged: “SHOUT,” at the Legbo Kutigi International Conference Center, Minna, the Resident Pastor, House on the Rock Church, Minna, Pastor Peterock Sadiq, said numerous challenges, which seemed to have defied all known human solution, calls for divine intervention.
According to Sadiq: “This is the second edition and this year, we are Praying, Praising and Worshipping God for His intervention in Nigeria and Christians in particular.
“The scenario in Nigeria today seems to have defied all human capabilities hence our resolve to collaborate with faithful across Nigeria to call on God through intercessory prayers, praise and worship for heavenly intervention and God to heal our land.”
Pastor Sadiq told journalists that SHOUT is a non-denominational service which gives opportunity for Christians, Muslims and others to come together to use praise and worship songs to call on God.
Other Pastors from the PFN and CAN disclosed that the praise and worship event gives the opportunity for all to pray to God to heal Nigeria from insecurity and political distrust, which have continued to widen the gap among Nigeria’s political elites and socio-economic challenges.
Accordingly, they expressed optimism that “the Almighty God will hear and answer us and very soon Nigeria will witness rapid positive change in all sphere of life”.
Pastor Sadiq further disclosed: “It is not the design of God for Nigeria and Nigerians cannot continue to go through challenges.”
Dignitaries at the all night event, held from Friday night through Saturday morning, which featured many gospel artists, included Echioda and former Niger State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Jonathan Tsado Vatsa.
