CAN holds 10-day prayer session over insecurity in southern Kaduna

Worried by the insecurity in Southern Kaduna, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Moro’a Chiefdom chapter, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State has begun a 10-day prayer session for God’s intervention.
The association’s scribe in the Chiefdom, Rev. Mapunu Yohanna, made this known in interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Kaduna.
Yohanna explained that the prayers were also organised to promote peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic groups of the area.
He said that the prayers which were in collaboration with the Moro’a Traditional Council would be held in all districts of the Chiefdom from March 14 to April 22.
He called on Nigerians to join them and intensify prayers against all forms of insecurity currently dragging the country backward.
Yohanna said: “The current security challenge confronting Southern Kaduna and the country at large is seriously slowing the pace of development in the area and dragging the entire nation backward.
“I therefore appeal to every Nigerian to pray for lasting peace in the country, because there cannot be any meaningful development in an atmosphere of insecurity.’’
According to him, governments at all levels are doing their part, but cannot succeed without our prayers.
He said: “We will continue to do what we can do as humans and leave the rest to God.
“But I believe if we earnestly and faithfully commit the situation to prayers, God shall come to our rescue.”
