Brazil legend Cafu’s son, Danilo Feliciano de Moraes, has died at the age of 30 from a heart attack, after playing football at his family home in Sao Paulo.
The son of Brazil hero Cafu, Danilo Feliciano de Moraes, has tragically passed away at the age of 30 following a heart attack.
Danilo was playing football at his family home in Sao Paulo, when he complained of feeling unwell, according to Globo Esporte.
He was subsequently taken to the Albert Einstein Hospital’s Alphaville unit, where he later died.
Football teams across the world have paid their respects to Cafu’s son, including Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and the Brazilian’s former team AS Roma.
“The club is deeply saddened by the passing of Cafu’s son, Danilo,” tweeted Inter Milan.
“All of us at the club send our heartfelt condolences to Cafu and his family at this difficult time.”
AS Roma tweeted: “The club sends its deepest condolences to Marcos Cafu and his family at this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them all.”
Real Madrid, who Cafu never played for, said: “El Real Madrid C.F. expresses its deep regret at the passing of Danilo, the son of Brazilian football legend @officialcafu.
“The club wishes to convey its condolences to Cafu and his family and shares in his grief in these difficult moments.”
Meanwhile, Roma legend Francesco Totti told his friend Cafu that his thoughts are with him during this difficult time.
“I’ve seen him grow … it’s not possible!!!!,” he tweeted
“I am close to you my friend with all the [love] … Rest in peace Danilo.”
Elsewhere, European football authority UEFA also sent its condolences to the Cafu family.
“Everyone at UEFA wishes to send their sincerest condolences to Cafu following the passing of his son, Danilo.”
“The thoughts of the whole football world are with you and your family at this tragic time.”
