Players and officials of Sony Ela Nguema FC of Equatorial Guinea, Dolphins opponents in Sunday’s CAF Champions League match, will arrive in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
The 25-man contingent, according to the Media Officer of Dolphins, will fly straight to Port Harcourt from Malabo, three days to the game, giving them enough time to get used to Port Harcourt.
Nguema have an uphill task ahead of them qualifying for the 2nd round of the CAF Champions League after losing 3-0 at home to Dolphins in the 1st leg two weeks ago.
In that game, Emma Nwachi, Chidi Osuchukwu and Ifeanyi Egwim scored for Dolphins.
Sony Ela Nguema have qualified for the CAF Champions League eight times since the days of the old Cup of Champions Clubs format, but have never gone past the first round.
Meanwhile, the game between Dolphins and Sony Ela Nguema in the 1st round 2nd leg CAF Champions League will come up on Sunday at 3pm.
Venue is Dolphins regular home ground, the Liberation Stadium, that was approved by the Confederation of African Football a few weeks ago.
Dolphins won the 1st leg in Malabo two weeks ago by 3-0 and have the advantage of not losing at their home ground since a 3-0 loss to Enyimba in the Nigeria Professional League in 2003.
On the domestic scene this season, Dolphins have not dropped points at home, bdefeating Sunshine 1-0, Rangers 1-0, Akwa United 2-1, Kaduna United 3-0 and Gombe United 2-1.
