Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has stressed the need for leaders in the country to build their foundation on integrity and sincerity to meet the aspirations of the masses.
Chief Akpabio, who stated this on Tuesday when the President/Chairman in Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered), Chief Michael Olawale-Cole, paid him a courtesy visit in the Governor’s Office, Uyo, attributed the success of his administration to integrity in governance through the execution and implementation of development projects.
Akpabio, who bagged a Distinguished Manager of the Year award from the Institute, thanked them for the award and for choosing Akwa Ibom State for this year’s conference.
He noted that their visit to the state was to prove to them that government could work and also showed that the money of the state was properly utilized.
The governor commended the leadership of the Nigerian Institute of Management, noting that the organisation in its 52 years of existence has produced committed and possessed leaders.
Olawale-Cole said they were proud to be in the state, disclosing that NIM for 52 years has not had its conference in the South-South zone before.
Olawale-Cole applauded the development of Akwa Ibom State, describing it as overwhelming.
