Vice President Namadi Sambo is to head a 16-man Federal Government transition committee, the Daily Times is reporting.
The committee is saddled with preparing the Federal Government’s hand over note to the incoming administration of President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari.
Daily Times online reported on Friday afternoon that the committee will work with the incoming government of the All Progressives Congress in ensuring a smooth transfer of power to Buhari.
The new government will be inaugurated on May 29, 2015.
According to Daily Times, the members of the committee include the Minister of Finance and Co-ordinating Minister of the economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; the Minister of State for Finance, as well as the Ministers of Justice, Transport, Police Affairs and the Niger Delta.
The list also includes the Managing Director of the Assets Management Company of Nigeria, the Head of Service of the Federation, the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, as well as the Directors General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, the Bureau of Public Procurement, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, will service as Secretary.
The Vice President-Elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, will head the transition team of the incoming administration.
