The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, President Muhammadu Buhari, has taken the lead as the Independent National Electoral Commission began the collation of the final results of the February 23, 2019 presidential election in Nigeria.
The results, which are being released with the supervision of the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Jega, has seen Buhari winning in seven states, while his closest challenger and flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has three states and the Federal Capital Territory in his kitty.
Buhari was declared winner on Monday in Kwara, Osun, Ekiti, Nasarawa, Kogi, Gombe and Yobe States, while Abubakar won in the FCT and Ondo, Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu States.
