Members of the Super Eagles at the ongoing AFCON 2019 in Egypt were this morning locked in discussion with the officials of the Nigeria Football Federation over non-payment of their camp allowance and bonuses, The Eagle Online is reporting.
It was gathered that due to discussions, the Nigeria handler, Gernot Rohr, and the team’s Assistant Captain, Ahmed Musa, missed the pre-match conference organised by the Confederation of African Football on Tuesday for the match against Guinea.
Camp sources also informed that the players acted in good time to avoid suffering the same fate of their female folks, the Super Falcons, at the Women World Cup in France.
The Flying Eagles had also staged a sit in protest after they were knocked out of the U20 World Cup in Poland over their unpaid wages.
Nigeria takes on Guinea at the Alexandria Stadium on Wednesday at 3:30pm.
A victory will secure their passage to the Round of 16 after picking three points against Burundi last Saturday in the group opener.
