The Senate on Tuesday turned down the list of non-career ambassadorial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Top on the list of the nominees was a former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Senator Olorunnibe Mamora.
President Buhari sent the list to the Senate two weeks ago.
A former Minister and former Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Pauline Tallen, had turned down her nomination.
The Senate said its action was based on the receipt of 250 petitions against the nominees.
