Following protest by the students asking authorities to #BringBackOurExams, the Governing Council of the University of Abuja on Monday ordered the institution shut down until further notice.
The students have been protesting of late to compel the lecturers who are on strike over unpaid allowances to go back to work so that they could finish their examinations.
At the Main Campus, notice has been placed on the boards of all the departments and hostels, asking the students to vacate the school.
The Eagle Online gathered that students who were still at the Mini Campus and those in the hostels were chased away by the police with the release of teargas.
The students are now vacating the campus.
