The Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, is in a closed door meeting with Senator Ahmad Lawan and some senators-elect in Borno State.
Shettima is from same state with Senator Mohammed Ndume, who is vying for the seat of Senate president in the ninth Senate with Lawan, who has been endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress.
The endorsement of Lawan was made known last week by the National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, at a dinner the senators-elect had with Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja last week Monday.
The pro-Lawan senators-elect will use the meeting to persuade Governor Shettima on the ambition of their principal.
Among senators-elect in the meeting with Shettima are Opeyemi Bamidele, Abdullahi Sabi, Bala Na’Allah, Jibril Barau and Ifyeayi Uba, who, strangely, belongs to the Young Progressives Party.
Others in the meeting are Senators Adeola Olamilekan and Adamu Aliero.
