Despite the reported stalemate between it and Governors, the Clerk to the National Assembly (NASS), Arch. Olatunde Amos Ojo, has transmitted the controversial Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent
A source confided in The Nation that the Bill is now with the President.
Recall that it has been reported earlier that the Bill would be transmitted today.
The President in December vetoed the Bill, leading to a fresh amendment of the Bill by the National Assembly.
It is however uncertain if the President would assent to the reworked Bill due to raging flexing of muscles between the NASS members and Governors.
The Governors are said not to be happy with the new amends and plan to prevail on the President not to sign it into Law.
