President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the national chairmanship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The meeting, according to available information, took place in the late hours of Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It came a few hours after the President met with Governors elected on the platform of the APC, under the auspices of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
One of the outcomes of the meeting was the decision of the Governors to back the candidates of the President’s choice for elective positions in the March 26, 2022 National Convention of the party.
As at press time, some of the National Chairmanship aspirant who had picked and submitted their Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms were the former Deputy National Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, Saliu Mustapha; Senator Sani Musa; Dr. George Akume, Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs; as well as a former Governor Abudulaziz Yari of Zamfara State.
Others were former Governor Abdllahi Adamu of Nasarawa State and Senator Tanko Al-Makura, also a former governor of Nasarawa State.
