The All Progressives Congress has summoned the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, and a former Governor of the State, now a senator, George Akume, to the National Headquarters in Abuja, The Eagle Online has learnt.
The summon followed the pronouncement by Ortom on Monday that the party had shown him the red card and he was shopping for another political platform.
Ortom and Akume had been engaged in a face-off over the control of the party in Benue State.
But following Ortom’s public pronouncement of his decision to quit the party, the Deputy National Chairman (North), Senator Lawal Shu’aibu, has summoned the governor and Akume to Abuja for an urgent meeting.
Sources told The Eagle Online that the meeting will likely hold on Tuesday (today).
