The representative of Plateau South Senatorial District, Senator Ignatius Longjan, is dead.
The senator, sources said, died on Monday at the Turkish International Hospital in Abuja.
The Plateau State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Jos, Plateau State four months ago ratified the election of Longajan on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The tribunal, in a unanimous judgement read by its Chairman, Justice Joy Nwoye, held that the petitioners failed to prove their case beyond reasonable doubts.
Kefas Dandam and his party, Peoples Democratic Party, had asked the tribunal to upturn the result of the election in their favour due to irregularities.
They claimed that the election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission was not in compliance with extant laws.
