Following the recent bomb blast that claimed 35 lives in Jimeta, Yola, the Adamawa State Government on Wednesday announced a ban on the operation of all public viewing centres in the state.
A statement issued in Yola by DSP Othman Abubakar, the spokesman of the Police Command in the state, said that the ban was with immediate effect and for an initial period of one month.
It said the measure was due to the “unfortunate recent bomb blast in Yola”, adding that the directive was issued by Governor Muhammadu Jibrillah.
The statement warned against flouting the order.
It advised members of the public to avoid crowded places and report suspicious persons to security agents.
