The Benue State Commissioner for Works and Transport, John Ngede, resigned on Wednesday to pursue his ambition as running mate to the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, in the 2015 general elections.
The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Justin Amase, made this known to newsmen at the end of the State Executive Council Meeting in Makurdi.
Amase said Ngede was nominated by the PDP as running mate to Tarzoor.
He said the council had accepted his resignation and directed the Chief of Staff to Governor Gabriel Suswam, Prof. Saint Gilikaa, to oversee the ministry pending when a new commissioner would be appointed.
Ngede had also served in the Ministry of Water Resources and Environment.
