The Bauchi State Government said it spent N9.73 billion in seven years on various projects under the Millennium Development Goals in the state.
The State Focal Person, Alhaji Mohammed Ibrahim, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Bauchi on Saturday.
Ibrahim said the amount was spent on the construction of 60 Primary Health Care Centres, 24 Clinics, 27 blocks of classrooms and 627 VIP latrines.
Others were purchase of 60 ambulances, drilling of 427 boreholes, construction of 40 dispensaries, four units of health centres, equipping of health centres and supply of drugs.
He said that renovation of health centres, classrooms, installation of Solar Inverters, supply of drugs, medical equipment, school furniture under 2012 Conditional Grant Scheme gulped N1 billion.
According to Ibrahim, the projects are in Alkaleri, Toro, Ningi, Shira and Giade Local Government Areas of the state.
Ibrahim said the state in collaboration with the Federal Government in 2012 raised N1 billion for two cottage hospitals, parameter fencing, staff quarters, medical equipment and ambulances.
He said the projects were sited at Bununu and Yuguda Towns, while it also constructed blocks of classrooms and fencing of Dawaki Secondary School in Itas Gadau Local Government Area.
The focal person said that the state government in 2012 spent N185.7 million under the Conditional Cash Transfer.
He said that the state government also spent N600 million for the provision of various projects in six selected local governments under the 2013 Conditional Grant Scheme.
