The Bauchi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of four suspects in connection with the bomb blast in Azare, Bauchi State on Friday.
“Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the incident and they are assisting the police with useful information that could aid investigation,” the police said in a statement on Saturday.
It said a female suicide bomber detonated the Improved Explosive Device at the premises of First Bank Plc in Azare.
The police said seven persons were killed, while 10 were injured.
The statement, signed by the spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, said the explosion occurred at about 10:05am.
Mohammed added in the statement: “So far, seven persons were confirmed dead, while ten others who sustained various degrees of injuries have been rushed to Federal Medical Center Azare for medical attention out of which five were treated and discharged.
“The entire surrounding have been cordoned off and swept by Police explosive ordinance disposal unit.”
