Barcelona have unveiled a statue of club legend Johan Cruyff outside their famous Nou Camp stadium.
Friends and family of the former Barca player and manager were present, as the gleaming silver tribute was revealed to the public.
Current president Josep Maria Bartomeu addressed the gathered crowd, and outlined what the Dutchman brought to the club and what his legacy means.
“This statue shall be a permanent reminder of Johan Cruyff and what he represents. Johan Cruyff is a very important part of our history, essence and sentiment.”
Cruyff’s wife Danny, son Jordi and daughter Susila were there for the unveiling.
A number of former players were also in attendance, including Carles Puyol, Sergi Barjuan and Albert Ferrer.
Barcelona have also named their new B team stadium in honour of the Dutchman, who played five seasons for the club between 1973 and 1978 before returning to manage them between 1988 and 1996.
The new arena was officially opened with a friendly match between the youth teams of Barcelona and Ajax on Tuesday.
The statue, which is made from bronze and stands 3.5 metres high, was created in four months by the Dutch sculptress Corry Ammerlaan van Niekerk.
It depicts Cruyff with the captain’s armband and No 9 shirt on his back issuing instructions with an outstretched arm.
