AY’s 30 days in Atlanta, whose theatrical release was billed to take place across Nigeria from October 31, has received four major feathers to its cap by winning four more awards at the just concluded Golden Icons Academy Movie Awards in Houston, Texas, United States of America last week Saturday.
The movie won the award for Best Film Comedy, Best On-Screen Duo (AY and Ramseh Nouah) and Best Cinematography, while Hollywood star, Lynn Whitefield, also got a Special Recognition Award for her role in the movie.
These awards are in addition to the Comedy Movie of The Year award it received earlier this month.
The confirmed list of guests at the premiere’s opening at the Silverbird Galleria, Lagos included Olu Jacobs, Patrick Doyle, Zack Orji, Kanayo O Kanayo, Jide Kosoko, Nkem Owoh, Zeb Ejiro, Chico Ejiro, St Obi and Joke Silva.
Others were Richard Mofe-Damijo, Rita Dominic, Desmond Elliot, Jim Iyke, Racheal Oniga and Monalisa Chinda among others.
According to AY, the premiere is to serve as an opportunity for Nollywood fans and new entrants into the industry to mix with the icons whose works have over the years given the industry the brand equity it has across the world.
