A 38-year-old automobile electrician, who allegedly defiled his 16-year-old daughter, on Friday appeared before an Ota, Ogun State Magistrate’s Court.
The accused (name withheld) was charged with the offence of defiling his daughter in his house on November 30 at 9pm.
The prosecutor, Inspector Peter Molokwu, told the court that the accused, who resides at Iyana Iyesi area of Ota, committed the offence on the above mentioned date.
Molokwu said that the accused had an unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl by sleeping with her many times.
He said that the offence contravened Section 357 of the Criminal Law of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Titi Bello, ordered that the accused should be remanded in prison custody pending the advice from the state Director of Public Prosecutions.
Bello adjourned the case till February 28, for mention.
