The Atiku Domestic Voters Structure, a support group of PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has commended the African Democratic Congress’s Bayelsa East senatorial candidate for endorsing Atiku.
The Bayelsa Coordinator of DOVO, Endurance Deboh, commended Senator Nimi Barigha-Amange for his display of courage and disposition, describing him as a true democrat and man with a large heart.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Barigha-Amange, a founding member of the PDP and close ally of former President Goodluck Jonathan, was in the Senate between 2007 and 2011.
He contested and lost the PDP primaries after which he dumped the party for the ADC, alleging that “PDP undemocratically conducted its primaries and handpicked its candidates”.
Deboh said: “We are elated by your swelling support and endorsement of the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku.
“This latest endorsement is a testimony of his wide acceptability across the country and resolve to restructure the country and make it work again.”
On the postponement of the election, Deboh noted that he and his supporters were not deterred as no sacrifice was too much to pay for the actualisation of their goal.
He promised to mobilise their supporters and electorate to turn out en masse for the rescheduled elections on Saturday.
