The Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ima Niboro, has called on youths to remain focused in their endeavours, saying it is a critical factor toward nation building.
Niboro said this on Thursday in Abuja when the Association for the Enhancement of Development and Responsible Leadership, an NGO, conferred on him an award of excellence.
The award was in recognition of his contributions to the development of Nigerian youths.
The managing director said that the development of leadership roles among the youths was critical in guaranteeing a bright future for the country.
Niboro said: “We need to keep our youths focused.
“They are the future of our nation.
“A country that deserves a future must nurture the youths of tomorrow.”
He commended the group for the award, adding that it would encourage him toward greater achievements.
Earlier, the Coordinator of the association, Stephen Maduako, said the award became necessary to appreciate Niboro’s contributions in promoting leadership skills among youths in the country.
Maduako said that the group had engaged in sensitisation campaigns in tertiary institutions across the country to enlighten youths on the need for sustainable peace.
According to him, the campaign programmes are geared toward sensitising youths on the need to understand the need to ensure peace and demonstrate responsible characters in all they do.
He said: “We the youths need to embrace peace at all times and also to understand that with a responsible and united society, the country will get more results.”
