The Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery says it will begin a Field Training Exercise, nicknamed “EX VULCAN GLOW VII’’, from October 28 in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Officer of the corps, Cpt. Mohammed Maidawa, announced this in a statement on Wednesday in Kaduna.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the exercise is in continuation of the Nigerian Army training activities for the year.
Maidawa said EX VULCAN GLOW VII will begin on October 28 through November 1, at the Military Training Range, Kachia.
According to him, during the period of the exercise, mass movement of troops, military weapons and equipment will be noticed as well as sound of gun shots.
“The general public especially residents of Kachia and environs are advised not to panic and also to keep away from the general area of the exercise.
“The exercise will be climaxed with a fire power demonstration on Friday, Nov. 1.
“A pulling out parade of some retired former Corps Commanders, Major Generals and Brigadier Generals of the Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery will hold on November 2, at Nigerian Army School of Artillery parade ground,’’ Maidawa added.
