The All Progressives Congress on Tuesday in Abuja urged its House of Representatives members not to give up in spite of the challenges they were facing.
The party’s Interim National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, gave the advice when the leadership and governors of the party held an interactive meeting with its caucus in the National Assembly.
Akande said that the party would always look up to its members in the National Assembly to stabilise the heated polity.
Also speaking, the leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, enjoined the lawmakers to embrace national interests in the fight against corruption.
Tinubu assured them of the party’s readiness to support them in these trying times of struggle.
“The party will not let you down, especially in these trying times of the struggle,” he said.
Tinubu urged them not to yield to alleged financial inducement introduced into the polity.
Present at the meeting were Governors Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State, Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State, Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.
Others were Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State and the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Umar Ganduje.
Former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno State and Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu (former National Chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party), and the APC’s Interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, among others were also in attendance.
The meeting later went into a closed doors session.
