Another $40,000 missing at NFF, intern fingered

Another set of cash has developed wings inside the Glass House, the secretariat of the Nigeria Football Federation in Abuja.
A beautiful intern was said to have laid her beauty on the table to enable her have access to the money that was supposed to be used by one of the female national teams to play in Ethiopia this weekend.
According to sources in the NFF, the intern, who is the younger sister to a former President of the NFF, had access to the money while her principal at work was busy admiring her body.
She was later arrested by the Police and she confessed.
But it could not be confirmed if the money has been retrieved from her.
The stolen funds were meant for the country’s Under-17 female national football team, the Flamingoes, to prosecute a match against Ethiopia in a second round qualification for the FIFA Under-17 Women World Cup after Kenya pulled out of the tie.
Kenya cited their inability to raise a team for the first round match this month as their reason for pulling out.
The Kenya Football Federation boss, Robert Muthomi, said: “We were scheduled to play Ethiopia in October 2017. However, following consultations with the schools and Ministry of Education officials, we have decided to withdraw our participation.
“This is to allow players ample time to prepare and sit for their examinations, which we also find crucial for their development.”
Ethiopia will host the Flamingoes in the first leg, first round match o December 1, before visiting Benin, Edo State for the second leg two weeks later.
The sixth edition of the Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup will be held in Uruguay, with 16 teams to play in the tournament scheduled to hold from November 13 to December 1, 2018.

History of missing monies in NFF:
On June 1, 2009, the sum of $400,000 was missing from the NFF.
The then Director General of the National Sports Commission, Patrick Ekeji, claimed it was $200,000, but a staff claimed it was $400,000 though the NFF later officially said it was $280,000.
The outcome of the investigation into it remains a mystery till today.
The younger brother of the wife of a former Sole Administrator of the NFF was involved.
John Adelowo, Lukman Ajiboye, Abutu Ogaji, Isaac Baba and Yakubu Bawa were charged to court.
Nothing came out of it.
In December 2016, the NFF was embroiled in the inability to account for $801,000 FIFA money.
But nothing also came out of it.
