The board of directors of the African Newspapers of Nigeria Plc, publishers of the Tribune titles, has commended the management of the company for the impressive results it has got in the last two years.
Speaking at the company’s board meeting in Ikenne Remo, Ogun State on Fridayunder the chairmanship of the Yeye Odua, Chief H.I.D. Awolowo, directors of the company took turns to x-ray its activities and expressed joy that despite all odds, the results were impressive and commendable.
Reverend Omotola Oyediran, a director of the company and Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s first daughter, in her remarks, said the performance of the company under the Managing Director/Editor-In-Chief, Edward Dickson, had shown a great commitment to excellence and professionalism, which had reflected in the company’s products and in the progress report presented before the board.
Oyediran challenged the management and staff of the company to continually maintain the tempo of their performance while assuring them of the board’s continued support.
Another director of the company, Chief Bayo Fadoju, also spoke in the same vein.
Fadoju noted that the results had shown that the board took the right decision in restructuring the company two years ago by putting in place the current management.
Pastor Segun Olatunji, a director and consultant to the company, noted that the company did well in the last two years principally due to the commitment of the workers and especially its hardworking management.
Earlier, Dickson had presented the report of the preceding financial year, while also informing the board that the company had just purchased a brand new Goss Community Printing machine without borrowing.
