The Independent National Electoral Commission in Anambra State on Tuesday said that movement of persons and vehicles would be restricted between midnight on Friday and 10pm on Saturday.
This was contained in a statement signed by Prof. Chukwuemeka Onukaogu, the INEC Resident Commissioner in the state.
The statement stated that the restriction would affect movement in and out of the state during the period.
It declared that the restriction had become necessary for a successful and peaceful conduct of the gubernatorial election in the state scheduled for Saturday.
It, therefore, enjoined anyone or group of persons passing through the state to find an alternative route on the said dates and time.
It also said that nobody would be allowed to move around the state with any security details no matter how highly placed, urging all concerned to abide by the directives
The statement added: “Anybody who flouts this order will be arrested and prosecuted.
“These measures are geared towards a hitch free conduct of gubernatorial election in the state on the aforementioned dates.”
