There was disagreement among the members of National Assembly Joint Panel on the Independent National Electoral Commission over the amendment of Electoral Bill, The Eagle Online reliably gathered.
The lawmakers, who were set to address newsmen on the Amendment of the Electoral Bill, were hurriedly invited for an emergency meeting at the office of the Joint Chairman of the Panel, Senator Nazif Suleiman.
Our correspondent gathered that the amendment presented to the Committee by the House of Representatives Committee is different from the one of the Senate chairman of the Committee.
As at the time of filing the report, the lawmakers were still meeting at Nazif’s office to rectify the disagreement in the amendment bill.
