On December 14, 2024, on a relaxed Saturday afternoon, the Ogun State Polytechnic Mass Communication Class of 1992, known as Association of Mass Communication Graduates, 1992 Set, gathered at the prestigious Lagos Country Club Tennis Section for their annual reunion. It was indeed the perfect mix of old friends, shared memories, and lighthearted fun.
For this group of accomplished professionals, it wasn’t just another meet-up. It was a chance to laugh, reminisce, and reconnect.
The Lagos Country Club, established in 1949, set the tone for the day with its inviting atmosphere. Known for bringing people together, the tennis section of the club was an ideal backdrop for this lively group to unwind.
The attendees were an impressive mix of media heavyweights and successful professionals. Dotun Oladipo, also known as “The Eagle,” was in high spirits. Eze Anaba, Editor of Vanguard Newspaper and President of the Nigeria Guild of Editors was also there. He caught up with friends like Yemi Adebowale, a former Editor of ThisDay on Saturday, and Ademola Oni, General Manager, Digital and Publications at The PUNCH. It was like old times as they swapped stories and jokes.
Adding more energy to the mix were Bimbo Oyetunde, General Manager of Bronze FM, Benin City, Edo State; and Isiaq Lawal, who leads Radio Lagos as General Manager. Adekunle Adeshina, Director of Public Affairs at the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources and President of AMACOG ’92, added his own charm, while Bambo Ogunbona, a prominent businesswoman and the event’s MC, kept everyone entertained with her wit and lively banter.

The list didn’t stop there. Funsho Oyelohunnu, a banker, and Semiu Salami, Publisher of New Mail, shared updates about life and work. Kazeem Akintunde, Publisher of Glitters Online, and Kunle Adams, Head of Information at Yaba College of Technology, were also there, joining in the fun and laughter. Others in attendance included Segun Adebowale, Yomi Lemboye, Siji Oyesile (General Secretary), Bola Adeboye, Dr. Hamzat Dauda, and Pastor Adeola Olanrewaju.
The day was filled with relaxed conversations, playful teasing, and even a few rounds of table games all done with the backdrop of some tennis fun.
Some alumni brought their children along, making it feel like a big family hangout. There was no strict agenda – just a group of people catching up, sharing memories, and enjoying the simplicity of being together.
