The Kwara State Governor, Dr. Abdualfatah Ahmed, on Monday inaugurated 13 Special Advisers with a charge on political office holders to make democracy more meaningful to Nigerians through good governance, respect for the rule of law and adherence to equity.
Governor Ahmed stressed that such had become imperative due to increased political awareness as a result of advancement in technology and the emergence of social media as a platform for agitation.
“As politicians, we must heed these calls by conducting ourselves with integrity, constantly striving to exceed our people’s expectations and keeping in mind that power, like everything else in life, is transient,” he said.

Ahmed, who informed the new appointees that the appointments were based on demonstrated capacities and record of achievements, advised them to settle down to their assigned duties and imbibe the administration’s passion for high performance and collective prosperity.
He said that his administration remained determined to sustain equity and spread in the distribution of social goods such an infrastructure and jobs.
“Our forthcoming youth empowerment intervention, Quick Win and socio economic capital projects are based on established need and geographical spread. All parts of the state, no matter how remotely located, will, therefore, benefit from these intervention and the impact,” the governor stressed.
