‘Adamawa APC chieftains did not engage in free-for-all at Atiku’s house’

There was no free-for-all at the meeting weekend in the Yola, Adamawa State house of former Vice President and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Atiku Abubakar, contrary to reports in a section of the media.
A section of the media had reported that top chieftains of the APC in Adamawa State, who were invited to a meeting over the weekend engaged in fisticuff in the home of Abubakar.
But a source privy to the meeting dismissed the report of a brawl as an overt “dramatisation” bordering on “mischief” of what transpired at that meeting.
According to the source, the meeting that had in attendance top APC chieftains in Adamawa State, including the party’s local government Chairmen and top government functionaries in the state, was heated but never degenerated to physical exchange of blows as erroneously portrayed.
“The meeting was called for the good of the party in Adamawa State by the Turaki. Yes, there were arguments and heated debate, but there was no exchange of blows by the Adamawa APC chairman and the Chief of Staff,” another source at the meeting volunteered.
He dismissed the rumours as sheer exaggeration by people obsessed with undue sensationalism.
When contacted, the Media Adviser to Atiku Abubakar, Mazi Paul Ibe, confirmed that indeed there was a meeting at the Yola home of the former Vice President last weekend.
Ibe, however, dismissed the insinuations of a free-for-all as a fabrication and embellishment of what truly transpired at the meeting.
