Policemen in Abia State on Saturday released from their custody an Associate Editor of The Sun newspaper, Ebere Wabara, whom they abducted from his Sururlere, Lagos State home on Friday.
Wabara’s release followed an order to the state Police Command by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar.
Wabara was released at about 10:15pm on Saturday.
He was granted what was termed police administrative bail.
The Correspondent of The Sun in Abia State, Chuks Onuoha, stood as surety for him.
Wabara is expected to report at the headquarters of the Abia State Police Command in Umuahia on Monday at 10am.
Wabara was abducted by the police from Abia State on Friday morning.
The police in Abia State, acting on the orders of the state Governor, Theodore Orji, said he would be charged with sedition for writing several articles outlining the false claims of performance by the Abia State Government.
