The Lagos State University on Thursday said that it would feature in the 2015 West Africa University Games scheduled for the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State from October 15 to 25.
Dr. Olufemi Adeogun, the Acting Director of LASU Sports Centre, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the university would participate only in the male football event at the Games.
Adeogun said the team had intensified training ahead of the tournament.
He lauded the institution’s authorities for approving the team’s participation in the tournament and providing the much needed financial support.
He said: “The team has intensified training … the players now train daily at the Sports Centre, Ojo, until they depart for the competition.
“And we are optimistic that the team will do well.”
NAN reports that more than 40 universities in the country will feature in the sub-regional sports fiesta.
